STANDARD FIRST AID with CPR-C and AED

This comprehensive two-day course offers first aid and CPR skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. This course meets legislative requirements for Alberta Occupational Health and Safety.

This course will certify you in both CPR-C and Standard First Aid. If you are looking for only a CPR-C certification, you can find those courses here.

CPR-C and AED

Courses on CPR provide the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and chocking for adults, children and babies. This course includes the latest CPR guidelines and training in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This course meets legislative requirements for Alberta Occupational Health and Safety.

This course will certify you in CPR-C only. If you are looking for a certification in both CPR-C and First Aid, you can find our course offerings here.

Canadian Red Cross First Aid and CPR-C courses offer lifesaving first aid skills. This recertification course refreshes the knowledge and skills of individuals who hold a current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification. This course meets legislation requirements for Alberta Occupational Health and Safety, and updates skills for individuals needing training for the workplace, or for those interested in having first aid skills so they can respond to emergencies at home.

This course will recertify both your CPR-C and Standard First Aid certifications. If you are looking to recertify only your CPR-C certification, you can find our course offerings here.

CPR-C and AED - RECERTIFICATION

Canadian Red Cross CPR course offer lifesaving skills. This CPR-C recertification course is meant to refresh the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies.

You must have a current CPR-C certification in order to take this course.

This course will only recertify your CPR-C certification. If you are looking to recertify both your CPR-C and Standard First Aid certifications, you can find our course offerings here.

Basic Life Support (BLS) with Airways and Oxygen

The Canadian Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) teaches the recognition of, and initial treatment given by pre-hospital responders to a patient suffering from cardiac or respiratory arrest. This course includes Airway Management and Oxygen Therapy.

First Responder Recertification

The First Responder program teaches First Aid and CPR skills for professional first responders or those wanting to become first responders. This recertification course reviews techniques for sustaining life, preventing further injuries, and caring for illnesses and injuries until the next level of medical personnel arrives. 

All participants are required to hold a current recognized First Responder certification.

First Responder

Pre-hospital care and CPR skills for professional first responders or those wanting to become first responders. This course teaches techniques for sustaining life, preventing further injuries, and caring for illnesses and injuries until the next level of medical personnel arrives. Includes CPR/AED Level HCP.

Red Cross First Aid Instructor

First Aid and CPR Instructors support the Red Cross First Aid Program through the delivery of First Aid and CPR courses. This course provides candidates with the knowledge and skills to teach Emergency and Standard First Aid, CPR/AED, Marine Basic First Aid, and Emergency and Standard Child Care First Aid. This program is designed to prepare you to support dynamic, learner-centered classroom environments. It includes how to teach and facilitate, individual and group assignments, practice teaching, injury prevention principles, inclusion, and progressive learning.

This course includes the first three steps involves in the pathway to becoming a certified First Aid & CPR Instructor. You must successfully complete each step before advancing to the next step.
1) Skills Evaluation
2a) Fundamentals of Instruction - Online Component
2b) Fundamentals of Instruction - Classroom Component
3) Discipline Specific Classroom Component

At the end of the course, the instruction will give you instructions on how to set up your final step of the certification process, the Teaching Experience.

Red Cross Teaching Experience Supervisor

Building upon their existing Instructional skills, Teaching Experience Supervisor candidates will develop the skills required to support Red Cross First Aid Instructor candidates completing their Teaching Experience across all disciplines.

There are 2 steps involved in the pathway to becoming a certified Teaching Experience Supervisor. You must successfully complete each step before advancing to the next step.
1) Skills Evaluation
2a) Fundamentals of Instruction Online (2-4 hours)
2b) Fundamentals of Instruction Classroom

Once you have completed Steps 1 and 2, you are a certified Teaching Experience Supervisor. This certificicate remains current as long as your Instructor certification is current.

Psychological First Aid

This Canadian Red Cross course equips learners in developing a personal understanding of the effects of stress, loss, trauma and grief on others with an emphasis on self-care and personal protection. The course uses primarily case-based learning and teaches learners how to support themselves and others with the effcts of various kinds of stress.

Some online learning is required before the start of class.

This course is no longer being offered by the Canadian Red Cross. Participants are encouraged to look at either a Standard First Aid course or a Basic Life Support course.

This course is no longer being offered by the Canadian Red Cross. Participants are encouraged to look at either a CPR-C or Basic Life Support course.

CPR/AED HCP (Health Care Provider)

This course is no longer being offered by the Canadian Red Cross. Participantst are encouraged to look at either a CPR-C or a Basic Life Support course.
