Institute of Navigation (ION) National Graduate Award
The Institute of Navigation is a U.S.-based learned society dedicated to the art of navigation and it includes members from industry and academia throughout North America and the World. This scholarship is intended to help students cover the cost of their tuition, fees and materials necessary for learning.

Eligibility Open to students registered full-time in a graduate program in the Department of Geomatics Engineering and whose research will be on some aspect of satellite-based, ground-based and integrated wireless location and navigation systems. Candidates will have completed at least two relevant graduate courses with a minimum average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale.

Candidates must be ION members for at least 12 months prior to the application deadline.

Selection criteria also include interest in the Institute of Navigation (ION) activities, demonstrated by attendance at meetings, awards received, and similar involvement in ION Alberta Section meetings.

Apply Students should apply to the Department of Geomatics Engineering. The application will consist of a letter describing what the candidate has already accomplished in Satellite based and integrated navigation systems and the candidate’s future research plan.

A recommendation will be forwarded to the Graduate Scholarship Office. The recommendation is subject to final approval of the Graduate Scholarship Committee.
