Bruce Irons was a professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary and a pioneer in the development of the Finite Element Method of Analysis.
Donor Bruce M. Irons Memorial Scholarship Fund endowed by relatives, friends and colleagues in honour of the late Bruce Moncur Irons; a matching grant provided from Alberta's Advanced Education Endowment Fund; and royalty payments from books written by Bruce Irons

Eligibility Open to students registered full-time in a graduate program in the Department of Civil Engineering. Selection will be on the basis of academic excellence with preference being given to students developing or using numerical methods in their research.
