Joe Woodsworth Memorial Scholarship
Dr. Joe G. Woodsworth was a graduate of the University of Alberta and held his doctorate degree from Stanford University. He possessed a talent for recognizing ability in others and the determination to do what he could to develop it. Dr. Woodsworth taught in schools in Alberta, was a principal, and joined the staff of what is now the University of Calgary as the first administrator and head of Educational Psychology. There his career reached its fulfillment in teaching psychology and counseling. During his career Dr. Woodsworth authored two books and wrote many articles. He was a pioneer in the application of computer technology to vocational guidance. Most important of all he had gained the respect and affection of generations of students whom he counseled and taught.
