Eleanor Mackie earned her doctorate in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases from the University of Calgary in 1986, and was a constant supporter of research into diseases affecting women. This scholarship was endowed by her estate and is named in her honor. |

Eligibility |
Open to students registered full-time in a doctoral program in the Cumming School of Medicine.
Applicants must complete a statement of eligibility (approximately 300 words) describing how their research in immunology or microbiology will advance knowledge of diseases affecting women’s health.

Students holding a major graduate scholarship from Alberta Innovates - Health Solutions, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada or any other funding agency are not eligible. A student holding this award who subsequently receives one of the above awards must accept the funding agency award and inform the Associate Dean Graduate Sciences Education, and the Graduate Scholarship Office, of his/her external offer. |
