Eligibility |
Open to students registered full-time in a graduate program eligible for a Tri-agency scholarship in the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Students not already registered in a doctoral program must be intending to start a doctoral program effective May, September, or January of the following year. Students must be living in Alberta.
To be considered for an AGES – Research scholarship, candidates must have applied to the previous fall’s Tri-agency CGS-D or CGS-M competitions through the University of Calgary.
Doctoral students who are not awarded a Tri-agency scholarship through the previous fall’s competition and who are eligible for the upcoming CGS-Doctoral scholarship competition will be considered for a $15,000 AGES – Research scholarship. To be paid the $15,000 AGES – Research scholarship, students must apply to the upcoming Tri-agency CGS-Doctoral competition. The $15,000 AGES - Research scholarship is exempt from the graduate Award Regulations - https://grad.ucalgary.ca/awards/policies-and-regulations/regulations
Doctoral students who are not awarded a CSD-Doctoral scholarship through the previous fall’s competition and who are not eligible to apply for the upcoming CGS-D scholarship competition may be considered for a $11,000 AGES – Research scholarship. The $11,000 AGES – Research scholarship falls under the graduate Award Regulations- https://grad.ucalgary.ca/awards/policies-and-regulations/regulations
Master’s students who are eligible to apply for the upcoming CGS-Doctoral competition and who are intending to undertake a doctoral degree may be considered for a $15,000 AGES – Research scholarship. To be paid the $15,000 AGES – Research scholarship, students must apply to the upcoming Tri-agency CGS-Doctoral competition. The $15,000 AGES - Research scholarship is exempt from the graduate Award Regulations - https://grad.ucalgary.ca/awards/policies-and-regulations/regulations
Students can hold only one AGES in a given award year.
Students holding concurrent tenured or tenure-track positions at UCalgary or other post-secondary institutions who have not taken a leave from their positions are not eligible for the AGES Research scholarship. |
